THE CHALLENGES

Technicus is a relatively new SME with talented people working on data transformation and data management projects. They planned to grow so needed a flexible setup to scale quickly with both staff and contractors. They handle a large amount of confidential and personal data so they must be able to demonstrate their commitment to – and best practice in – security – and comply with relevant regulations.

THE SOLUTION

Pro Drive set up a secure Microsoft 365 environment and onboarded the Technicus team. Microsoft 365 brings together premium Office apps like Word, Excel, SharePoint and PowerPoint with cloud storage.

The environment included:

  • Email with best-in-class Mimecast email security.
  • Conditional access policies to secure devices accessing company data.
  • SharePoint for storing company files and collaboration.
  • An entire solution built to Cyber Essentials standards with a certificate issued on completion

Cyber Essentials Plus is a government backed and industry-supported scheme that helps the business protect itself against the growing threat of cyber-attacks. Technicus had to be externally audited and technically assessed using security software. In order to gain Cyber Essentials Plus it had to have Cyber Essentials already.

THE RESULTS

With Microsoft 365 cloud services, Technicus can now scale the company quickly and bring on board new staff whilst maintaining security of their system.

Having Cyber Essentials Plus certification enables them to prove their security credentials to stakeholders as they grow.

Pro Drive now provides ongoing IT management, cyber security and planning services to Technicus in the UK and to their new offices in Poland. We are working with Technicus on attaining the IASME Cyber Assurance standard (formerly the IASME Governance Standard).
