You should have a cybersecurity strategy – basically a document that will cover all the steps you need to have gone through to protect your business as well as possible against cyber crime. And, in the face of rising cyber attacks, you should include having a Cyber Incident Response Plan in your strategy too. Because no business can be 100% safe these days – but you can be armed and prepared.
Some businesses must have certain cybersecurity standards. For example, since October 2014, it has been mandatory to have a Cyber Essentials certification if you have any public sector or local authority contracts. Also, these days insurers require proof of certain standards of cybersecurity for some businesses.
