Following hot on the heels of office for iPad is the new iPhone optimised version of the popular Microsoft Office applications.
Word, Excel and PowerPoint are all now available for download to the iPhone from the App Store now. And the best part of it is that they will be available free of charge.
If you have an Office 365 subscription then you will have access to advanced features in addition to the basic reading, creating and editing functions such as drop box integration, collaboration and working across multiple devices.
As well as releasing the new phone apps Microsoft has made the Office for iPad applications free of charge for basic reading, creating and editing functions. We suspect this will be far more widely used than the iPhone apps and it certainly increases the credibility of the iPad in certain circumstances as an alternative to a laptop.
Office applications for Android phones are also in development and we expect them to be released early 2015.
