In one of our previous news articles we looked at software for making presentations for those of you who are not keen on using PowerPoint.  Well now there is a new kid on the block – Microsoft Sway.

So what is Sway and why is it different? Well Microsoft describes it as ‘a dynamic, interactive web canvas of your ideas’. Still none the wiser? Well that’s not surprising really so here is the Pro Drive take on Sway.

Sway helps you create a ‘storyboard’ to bring together your digital content – such as text, videos, photos, and social media in a way that displays beautifully via the web on any device, be it a tablet, smartphone or PC.  The clever bit about Sway is the way it intelligently designs your storyboard as you add more content, meaning they are incredibly quick to create and look great with minimal skill or effort.
A ‘Sway’ (as Microsoft would like us to refer to the finished storyboard) can also contain dynamic content – so you can click directly into a video, picture slideshow or even a twitter feed.  And they can easily be created from any device – even a smartphone.

So how do we see Sway being used?  Well it is probably a little too early to say but it looks to be a great alternative to PowerPoint for business presentations – especially for presenting ideas from tablets or laptops.  We can also see Sway being used for interactive blogs and extensively in the education sector.

How do you get Sway?  Well it is currently in preview but once fully released we understand that it will be available free to all with a premium version included in the Office 365 subscription.

How easy is it to use? Well we made this Sway in less than 5 minutes.  Whilst very basic it does demonstrate how simple it is for anyone to use.  Contact our Sales Team on 0330 124 3599 if you wish to know more.
